MODULE 1: LEARNING STYLE INVENTORY
High School VS University
Characteristics of Successful Students
1) Keep studies as first priority Reviewing notes and materials before class helps ro refresh and get to know the topic better, it also helps to jog the memory of the past lessons.
2) Pay attention in class. You can do so by taking notes. It helps to summarize long class hours and a bunch of materials into simpler notes according to your understanding. Easier to understand and makes it easier to memories through muscle memory.

4) Eat well and sleep well. Sleep early and get enough rest. 6 to 8 hours of sleep is needed for the brain to refresh its memories from yesterday including the lessons you have learn before this and also sharpen its focus. Eating healthily also helps with strengthening the brain by eating fruits and vegetables.

Important task opens up a path way towards long term goals. Task that are prioritized first tend to be the most important ones that should be focused on most. Thus, spending time efficiently by doing the more important task. Planning helps to prioritize task properly and accordingly.
MODULE 6: MEMORY STRATEGIES
What is memory?
The ability to remember past experiences, and the power or process of recalling to
mind previously learned facts, experiences, impressions, skills and habits.
To learn and remember, we must encode, store, and retrieve information.
MODULE 6: CONCENTRATION STRATEGIES
After answering the questions, I noticed I have terrible concentration strategies. I need to improve my concentration so I can focus more easily.
How forgetting could occur?
- Did not pay attention to the information
- Did not understand the information
- Cramming (last minute study)
- Did not have good strategies
- Interference (having 2 exams on the same day especially if the subjects are closely related for example psychology and counselling)
- Test anxiety (negative thoughts about oneself, did not prepare well for the test)
How to improve your memory?
- Massed practice vs spaced practice
- It is better to do spaced practice rather than mass practice. Resting in between practices helps the brain to stimulate the information that have been learned before more efficiently.
- Do not study last minute. It's not good for the long run. Study a few materials early rather than a lot in the last minute.
3. Rehearsal– repeat the information many times.
- Repeating and practicing are good for long memory. Doing something multiple times can help our brain to familiarize with it.
4. Elaboration strategies
- Associations
- Acronyms / catchwords
- Acrostics / catchphrase
- Imagery – visualize the image of the information needed
- Organizational strategies
- Comprehension monitoring strategies
MODULE 7: ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGIES
What I remembered:
Newspaper, Boat, Chalk, Crayon, Comic book, Pencil, Pen, Automobile, Bus, Book
I got 10 out of 12
MODULE 8: CONCENTRATION CHART
After I organised my study task and concentration problems, I found out the cause of my lack of focus therefore I can fix it right away
MODULE 9: READING TEXT
Q1: Why they choose totalitarianism system?
Totalitarianism relies on modern technology to monitor and control people; mass propaganda and electronic surveillance are widely used to influence people's thinking and control their actions. One example of a totalitarian regime was the National Socialist (Nazi) Party in Germany during World War II; military leaders there sought to control all aspects of national life, not just government operations.
Q2: What is Democracy?
Democracy is a political system in which the people hold the ruling power either directly or through elected representatives.
By using the SQ3R method, it can help me read and think like an effective reader. Now I can think about the text that I'm reading while reading.
CONCENTRATION
What is concentration?
Focusing attention on what is going on
MODULE 11: NOTE - TAKING STRATEGIES
Doing this questions made me realize that I'm not that good but not that bad at note taking strategies. This may help me more in my studies.
USE EFFECTIVE NOTE TAKING SYSTEM
Cornell System
Informal Outline
The Block Method and The Modified Block Method
Mapping Method
MODULE 12: NOTE - TAKING EXERCISE USING MAPPING METHOD
MODULE 13: GPA WORKSHEET
Plagiarism
“An act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another
author without authorization and the representation of that author’s work as
one’s own, as by not crediting the original author.”
Calculating GPA
The final examination results and assessments at the end of every semester are assigned a Grade Point Average (GPA)
Calculating CGPA
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) refers to the overall GPA, which includes dividing the number of quality points earned in all courses attempted by the total credit hours in all attempted courses.
